(From the Ultralight-Flight Mailing List) >Since you've received many answers to your post on dimpled golf balls, we >all expect you to develop a specific and usable means of >applying this mechanism to ultralights. First, I want to thank everybody that did reply to my question about the function of dimples on golf balls. And, Yes Charlie, I have been spending a lot of time in developing a specific and usable means to apply this technology to ultralight design. In fact, the preliminary drawing are complete and we are currently accepting bids from established manufacturers to produce and develop a prototype using this technology. So far we have received excellent response to our research from several notable companies including a subsidiary of Mikoyan-Gurevich (MiG) who actually see possibilities of STEALTH advantages due to the spherical shape of the dimpeling. As a small token of my appreciation to those of you who have taken the effort to help develop this technology, I have attached to this posting a .TIF file which you can download into any graphics program and then view a rendering of the soon-to-be developed prototype. Once again, Thank you all very much. Andy Gold
